THE BLUTO'S
CHRIS & MEG
MISSIONARIES
IN WALES

Greetings once again from the Wales,

Our summer in Wales began wonderfully with a beautiful June. It went down hill from
the second week in July. It began to rain and didn’t stop until near the end of August.
Although the Lord gave us a wonderful day for our church picnic.
It began like many of the other rainy days of July, but we headed out to Margam Park
about thirty miles West of us. Rain was in the forecast, the day looked like it was a
total washout, literally, but it was only thirty miles. We all climbed into our cars and
converged on Margam Park. As we approached the park the skies began to clear and
by the time we arrived the sun was bursting through the clouds. From the back seat
came the wee small voice of our 4 year-old granddaughter, Shyloh. “Bampy, we did
pray for a sunny day!” The Lord faithfully supplied us with a most glorious day for
our church picnic. Some of us even got a little sun burned that day. The Lord gave us
a sweet day of fellowship with some of our church folk, and it gave us something to
Praise the Lord about in our service on Sunday morning.
Our Gospel Preacher Association Institute started up again in September. We now have two
students. Bro Scott is continuing to train for the ministry. He isn’t sure what direction the Lord
will lead him but he is being faithful to prepare. We also have a young lady, Bethan, from a
sister Church who has come along to receive Bible training and prepare for the mission field.
She went on a mission trip to Nigeria this summer and is preparing to go again next year. She
is eager to learn and we praise the Lord for the opportunity to help her prepare.
Bro. Scott has been coming over to Horeb to preach for us. He began speaking for us at our
prayer meetings and he is now coming along on Sundays, usually once a month. He filled in for
me on one Sunday morning when I got a killer chest infection. He is growing as a preacher. It
is a blessing to see him grow in the Lord.
We have continued to have family nights. During the summer we had a family game night and
a film night. The people really enjoy these nights and the hot dogs we usually bring along. We
played RISK at the game night and sadly the game was never finished, although it remained set
up for over a month waiting for us to try and finish it. Someone brought their Wii game and Meg
and others enjoyed playing that for awhile.
We have been preparing for our next Holiday Bible Club later this month. I have got some of
the members at the church involved in the teaching of the lessons. We have five different
teachers doing the five lessons. We were blessed to be given deep sea decorations, including
an 8 foot blow-up whale, from another church who had a similar theme to ours. Our theme is
Sea Quest, Diving for God’s Treasure. I am calling for a day of fasting and prayer, on Monday
before the Holiday Bible Club begins. We are specifically praying for the children to be
receptive to the Gospel and that souls will be saved; and our workers to be prepared and used
in a mighty way for the Lord.
I was invited to participate in a community outreach by the Drama Group at Bethany Baptist
Chapel in Ynyshir. They asked me to give my testimony and to give an invitation at the end of
the program. The community was invited to come along at no charge to see the presentation.
The group sang several specials and then began the program, “Bow Down Esther” this was a
musical from the Book of Esther. After the program I gave a Gospel invitation to those in the
theater. When I had finished and prayed a young man came to trust Christ. I spoke with him
and he prayed, asking the Lord into his heart and life. He was in church the following evening.
What a tremendous result of all the hours of this drama groups preparation.
Thank for your continued prayers and support of our ministry. “And of some have compassion,
making a difference:” (Jude 1:22).
