We Can All Have a Part

The Apostle Paul asked a series of questions in Romans 10 : 14-15 :   “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, ‘how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!’”  As we examine this passage we can see that God has a plan to reach the world with the Gospel.  That plan includes each of us.  Some will be specially called of God to take the Gospel to a particular part of the world : “And how shall they hear without a preacher?” The Apostle Paul had a specific calling : “But the Lord said unto him, go thy way : for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of .”  However, not all of us can go.  So what part do the rest of us play in God’s plan?  If we cannot go ourselves, we can help send others :   “And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”  The Philippian believers caught this vision and responsibility to support Paul and he endeavored to take the Gospel where it had never been preached : “Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift : but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.” (Philippians 4 : 15-17)  So what will your part be?  Will you go or will you help send someone else?
